Finishing Touches
After you've designed and built the perfect garden hideaway you'll need to decide upon those all important Finishing Touches.
Fixtures and Fittings
As well as building the outside, we can also help you make the most of the inside.
Whether its a potting shed, a workshop of just somewhere to relax, we can build, source, fit or just suggest the best fixtures and fittings. Our designer has 15 years of interior design experience, providing spectacular designs on affordable budgets.
Our buildings can be fitted with a range of high tech features including wifi networks, alarms and solar power. On occasions we have also blended this high tech approach with a more vintage feel. The radio in the top picture is a reconditioned valve set from the 1940's, run by a solar powered electrical system and playing digital music streamed from the house.
The workshop benching in the bottom picture is a mixture of new timber and recycled cupboard doors, providing both strength and a virtuous feeling.
Planters and Plants
We can supply planters and containers that will match and compliment your building perfectly. These will not only enhance the look of your building, they will also help to soften its impact on the landscape.
We are happy to supply these for existing buildings or even if you just fancy them for your garden.
The bottom picture is a herb planter, built as a stand alone item. The individual boxes stop the herbs from competing with each other.
If you are struggling to find the right plants to fit in with your plans, our good friend Kate (of Katescuttings.net) can provide you with the perfect planting scheme. Kate has over 25 years of experience as a gardener and as you can see from her website, she has a real flair for putting the right plant in the right place.
Those Little Extras
We often get asked to find interesting objects. The lead clematis opposite is a good example. These are made by a local artist (who also makes a range of other flowers and plants in lead). The piece fits into the space of the summerhouse perfectly and again, helps to blur the boundaries of the garden and the building.
One of our buildings is in a garden that opens regularly to the public. As the roof is on the low side we were asked to provide signs to stop people bumping their heads on the way in and out. These can be made with a range of messages, to suit your requirements.
As with the planters above, these are available without buying a summerhouse!
